As we sat stationary in Bangkok’s notorious traffic on our way to The Peninsula, a renowned luxury hotel, our driver exclaimed several times, ‘Six-star hotel, best in Bangkok’. He was right, a 5-star rating does not begin to do justice to what is on offer here.
