The Relais Henley Hotel
The Relais Henley was the perfect base for enjoying the Henley Literature Festival. Located in a 16th-century Grade-II-listed building, the four-star hotel incorporates modern comforts into a historical property. History buffs will be interested to learn that the building housed the craftsmen who built the local St Mary’s Church in the 1530s. In 1632, it hosted King Charles I and later the first Duke of Wellington. Georgian times brought the addition of the brick façade, which exists today.

The Swan Hellenic Gastronomic Atlantic Voyage
And that is Swan Hellenic’s secret - along with excellent service from Mauricio Dos Santos’ team, to complement the fabulous food and wine. On shore during one excursion, we dined at a château hotel where everything was polished and precise, but as one fellow guest murmured, almost guiltily, “the food on board is better.”

Hintlesham Hall Hotel, a Suffolk Country Retreat
Like many Londoners I'm a sucker for a country house retreat. And, you'll find some of the finest country houses in England in East Anglia. Hintlesham Hall was built in the mid-16th century, with the core of the current building constructed around 1570. Now converted to a luxury hotel and restaurant, it's a great example.

Swan Hellenic Atlantic Voyage Cruise
Rather than being handed a pre-packaged journey, passengers with Swan Hellenic Diana were invited into a fluid, ever-unfolding narrative, where information was shared with a thoughtful determination. The result was more than just a trip; it was a learning experience and a shared exploration. And perhaps that’s what truly defines meaningful travel: the opportunity to discover, not just arrive.

The Peninsula, Bangkok – 6 Star Luxury
Taxi drivers in any city are often a great source of wisdom. As we sat stationary in Bangkok’s notorious traffic on our way to The Peninsula, a renowned luxury hotel, our driver exclaimed several times, ‘Six-star hotel, best in Bangkok’. He was right, a 5-star rating does not begin to do justice to what is on offer here.
