Are you looking for the best new restaurant openings in London this year? We’ve been on a mission to pick our favourite new opening each month and review it in detail. It’s a hard life! These are restaurants that may not yet have made the headlines because they are just too new, but we want to make sure that whether you are a visitor to London or live here, you get an insight into the London food scene. Here’s a selection of the best new restaurants in London we’ve tried this year.
Jason Atherton’s Sael Restaurant

September 2024 has seen us heading to Sael, Jason Atherton’s new restaurant in St James’s. Were we impressed? Very. The food is excellent and well-priced and, as the name suggests, changes with the seasons. To learn more: Check Our Review
The Devonshire Grill

Right in the heart of Soho, you’ll find The Devonshire Grill. The lovechild of well-known pub landlord, Oisin Rogers (formerly of The Guinea Grill) and the founder of Flat Iron Steak, Charlie Carroll. With Ashley Palmer-Watts previously of The Fat Duck at Bray and Dinner by Heston as executive chef. The kitchen is headed up by ex-Mark Hix chef, Jamie Guy. Did it deliver? The Park, Bayswater

The Grand Café offer is Jeremy King’s comfort zone but with The Park he has bypassed Europe and created an American take. Hot dogs and lobster rolls feature as well as more substantial savoury dishes, often with an Italian-American theme; for dessert, there are ice-cream sundaes – with a cute design-your-own sundae menu, -and you can even order a caramelised banana split. Check out The Park
Joséphine Bouchon from Claude Bosi

Joséphine is a charming place that somehow feels as if it’s been around for years. Modelled on the traditional French restaurants of Lyon, where Claude Bosi was born, it’s in the heart of ‘Little France’ – an area of South Kensington that is popular with French ex-pats thanks to the Institute Française and the Lyéee both a short walk from the restaurant. Mountain Restaurant

Soho has always been a place to head for great food. When we heard that Tomos Parry the founder of Michelin-starred Brat was opening a new restaurant on Beak Street we just had to try it out. You won’t be disappointed if you love his fiery style of Spanish cooking. Learn more about what to expect at Mountain
Cornus Restaurant, Belgravia

Dining at Cornus may be pricy but it includes lots of extras and the quality food is very good indeed. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and could easily see the amount of care that has gone into the creation of this special menu. Click through to read our full review of Cornus.
Henri by Jackson Boxer

Jackson Boxer’s Henri in Covent Garden hums with soul and character, it’s the most pleasurable meal I’ve experienced at a dining table in months. So get in there while you can because it’s definitely going places. To learn more: Check our Review
Oma, Borough Market – Greek Inspired Dining

Our advice to readers about OMA is to book ASAP and to go very hungry. Preferably with a group of friends, so that you can order many more of the dishes that two people can conceivably eat. Then you have the pleasure of tasting a lot more of these creatively prepared plates: Our Review of OMA
Manzi’s Fish Restaurant

Pescatarians should head for Manzi’s – the long-awaited reimagining of the classic Soho fish restaurant that was originally located on the corner of Leicester Square. It was a stalwart of the London dining scene from its opening in 1928 until its closure in 2008 – and now it’s reopened in style! Find out more about Manzi’s
Camille, Borough Market

We managed to arrive at Camille on their opening night. It was packed with hungry and anticipatory diners keen to try out the food from the team behind Ducksoup, Little Duck and Emilia. My companion dubbed it France meets St John’s – a fusion of French bistro food with nose-to-tail British dining: Camille is well worth checking out
